Format of the introduction and order of the credits.

Format of the introduction and order of the credits.

Hellooo blog. Today's blog post will be about the credits at the beginning of movies and how they are usually done, even though there isn't a defined order as such. They are used to give hierarchical recognition and also to set the tone of the story.

At the beginning, we will see the logo and the name of the company that distributes the project. They are responsible for the film being released in theaters, streaming platforms, or on home media. Also may be the finaciators of the project
2.Production Company=
Production companies usually focus on physical production, sourcing, and development. They are the ones who actually make the project happen. They develop the script and hire the crew.
3.Actors=
Then come the main actors, those who will play the lead roles.
4. Film title=
It is at this point that the film's title is usually integrated.
5.Music Composer=
The person in charge of the music and its production.
6.Costume Designer=
He is in charge of designing the characters' costumes. It's part of character development; it's how they present themselves to the world.
7.Editor=
He's the one who edits the clips in one way or another to get the best possible result from what is being trying to be conveyed.
8.Production Designer=
He is responsible for creating the perfect environment for what is happening and what they are trying to project.
9.Director of Photography=
It is the cameraman who films the scenes.
10.Writer=

11. Director=
And last but not least, the film's director, who is the one who directs it.

Well, that's all for today, Cambridge. I learned a lot and now I have a clearer idea of how an intro should be structured.

Research on intros

Intro Analysis

Hey blog, today I had to do some research on introductions in my genre. So I looked up new and old movies so I could see what they were like before and what they're like now. That way I would have a general idea of what my movie intro should be like. The movies I chose were Pride and Prejudice (2005), which is known as a classic in the enemies-to-lovers genre. Then I chose The Proposal (2009), which is more recent. And finally, I chose The Hating Game (2021). Once I chose them, I proceeded to analyze their intros and how the producers made them.

Pride and Prejudice (2005)
So, for the first film, which was Pride and Prejudice, I noticed that the overall vibe in this movie is very calm. It started with an establishing shot, showing a peaceful field with lots of vegetation and a beautiful orange and yellow sunset, very relaxing. After that, they switched to a medium shot of Elizabeth, the protagonist, who is the narrator, so to speak, of the story, since we see everything from her perspective. She was reading a book while walking with the sun behind her, creating a kind of halo effect. This effect is like when they illustrate an angel and put light behind it to make it look more peaceful; they used that same lighting to make her look more delicate and serene. Then we moved to a long shot where we could see where she was going, to her house. At her house, we can see many farm animals like cows and geese. We can observe her walking past clothes hanging on clotheslines. Then the camera pans away; she continues walking, and the camera moves inside the house where we can see her interacting with her many sisters. In the background, we can hear calm music coming from a piano; it's soft music that contributes to the overall atmosphere. All these details help give us a very detailed first impression of her and what her life is like. Her life is very simple; she was of the lower nobility. That is, she is the daughter of a knight; her father owns land, a landed gentry. Also, from the opening scenes, we could describe her as calm or content; we could say that she likes to read and learn.

The Proposal (2009)
For my second film analysis, I chose the 2009 film The Proposal. This movie starts in New York, which we can see in many scenes. The film begins with a video of a forest with a lot of movement and a very cheerful and entertaining song. The camera pans away from the TV, and we see Meredith on an exercise bike, showing us that she woke up early to exercise. She is calm. From there, we move to a scene of Andrew waking up late and getting somewhat flustered. This is the first comparison between them. Then we see Meredith taking a shower and getting out. Andrew is running to get to a coffee shop, where there's a long line, but the cashier already has his coffee ready, which shows that he goes there often, so he skips the line, but he's still running late. In contrast, Meredith is very calm, walking along, and she receives a call from work. Here we can see how she always has everything under control. So, basically, in this intro, we are introduced to the two characters and their different personalities through their daily routines.

The heting geme (2021)
The last film I analyzed was The Hating Game, which came out in 2021. This film also starts with very energetic but more commercial music. The first scene begins with a long shot of the two of them sitting in their office with their desks facing each other. This is where we notice their first differences through the set design. On Lucy's side, everything is more colorful and bright, and much warmer, a little disorganized, but it's a kind of disorganization she manages well. In contrast, Joshua's side is perfectly organized; cooler and basic colors are used; there are no colors other than blue, gray, black, and white; they are all neutral and cool tones, and the lighting is a little darker. A perfect example is their printers, which are in the center; Lucy's is white and has things on it, but Joshua's is black and has nothing on it. The two computers are the same model but different colors. The set design in this case reflects their personalities, so different yet similar at the same time. It shows us how Lucy is more energetic, emotional, and charismatic, while Joshua seems colder, distant, and reserved. But at the end of the day, they are very similar. After a couple of alternating scenes where we can see them more closely, we begin to see how they show Lucy doing something and then Joshua copying her; thus begins a copycat game where he copies her every time she does something. It is at this moment that Lucy begins to narrate the story and starts by saying that hating someone is like falling in love with them because they are similar feelings, and she begins to describe how she feels about the hatred she has for him. She describes how her entire environment changed once her and his companies merged. These companies are very different; you could say they're perfect for each of them and that they describe them well, but the union of the two also represents a stable coexistence, even though there may be differences. She goes on to say that Joshua only does that to annoy her and drive her crazy. Then she says she hates him, but later admits that she finds him attractive. When she stops talking and he continues to imitate her, she does something he can't do: she puts on red lipstick. She applies it, and he imitates her, but with his middle finger as if it were a lipstick. This moment is an example of how they treat each other with hostility and sarcasm. When that game ends, she starts listing the reasons why she hates him. The reasons are: number one, because he never smiles; number two, he's a control freak; number three, he always corrects her; and number four, he fired all her friends from the office, leaving her trapped in that place with him.

Portfolio Project Genre #2

Portfolio Project Genre #2

Hello againnnnnn, this blog is about my research into the romance genre, more specifically the "enemies-to-lovers" sub-genre. In this blog, I will analyze what it consists of and how the introductions are developed in films of this type. This was the topic I ultimately chose for my portfolio project.

The enemies-to-lovers subgenre is about two people who start off hating each other or simply not getting along, and as the story progresses, they begin to fall in love. The typical target audience is teenagers and young adults who enjoy emotional films, drama, and romantic relationships. It's also popular with people who appreciate good character development. It's very popular among those who like a mix of drama and romance.

The plot in this subgenre usually revolves around a conflict or drama between two people. The characters initially don't get along due to a misunderstanding or because they believe they are too different. Over time, they are forced to spend time together, share experiences, and eventually come to understand each other better, leading them to fall in love. The techniques usually used are close-up shots to show their emotions more clearly, and lighting. There's a lot of dialogue, which is very important in this genre, especially sarcastic dialogue at the beginning, and then later in the film it becomes more emotional. Music is also used extensively to highlight changes in feelings.

Marketing usually focuses on the chemistry between the protagonists, highly emotional scenes, and dramatic moments. The posters typically show the protagonists physically together but emotionally distant to create tension.

One example of this subgenre is Pride and Prejudice from 2005. This film is an adaptation of Jane Austen's book, a classic novel where Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy initially dislike each other due to misunderstandings. For example, Elizabeth thinks Darcy is arrogant and prideful, while Darcy judges Elizabeth and her family too quickly. This misunderstanding and their differing personalities create tension and witty arguments as the story progresses. Over time, they get to know each other, their opinions change, and they fall in love. This happens primarily through the dialogue and actions that unfold in the story.

Another example could be The Hating Game from 2021. In this romantic comedy, Lucy and Joshua work together, but they have very different personalities, which causes them to clash and compete over everything. This constant bickering creates tension between them, which eventually turns into attraction. Their dialogue and actions lead to very complex situations that they solve together. As they spend time together, they begin to notice each other's positive qualities instead of just what annoys them. This film uses humor, flirtation, and emotional growth to show the plot twists and the evolution of their enemies-to-lovers transition.

The introductions in these types of films usually begin by establishing the conflict between the characters. They start by showing the audience how opposite they are. They do this through awkward scenes, arguments, competitions, or misunderstandings. The characters typically have very different personalities, which is often shown through their clothing and behavior. They usually have different values and goals in life. The tone often starts sarcastic and hostile, with passive-aggressive dialogue and confrontational scenes. The introduction also usually shows how different their worlds were before they were forced to coexist. Beginnings with romantic interaction are usually avoided, using cool lighting and maintaining distance between the characters. These differences keep the viewer entertained and make the ending more satisfying.

Portfolio Project Genre #1

Portfolio Project Genre #1

Hi blog, for my portfolio project I have to choose a movie genre to create an intro for. This week I've been thinking about which one to choose, and I've narrowed it down to two options: a romance intro in the style of "Enemy to Lover" or an action intro.

In this blog, I'm going to delve deeper into my research on what the action genre is like and what its introductions are like.

The action genre evokes emotions such as adrenaline, tension, and high energy. It is very popular among teenagers and adults who enjoy danger, spectacle, and physical conflict. It focuses primarily on dangerous and high-energy narratives. Action films usually feature a protagonist who has to solve a problem, whether it's an enemy or a dangerous situation. This protagonist is usually described as the hero of the story. The hero will have to overcome obstacles to achieve their goal, such as fights, chases, and explosions. The conflict is usually clear between the protagonist and the antagonist. The most common themes are survival, justice, and heroism.

The techniques usually used to generate the feelings and reactions so characteristic of this type of production are fast editing, dynamic camera movements, strong and very loud sound effects, and rhythmic music to create tension and excitement. The plot is usually centered around good versus evil, and life-and-death situations. The roles of the characters are clear and well-defined. To promote the film, they usually show the most exciting moments. For example, trailers often feature explosions and impactful moments to emotionally engage the viewer.

Two examples I really like are John Wick (2014) and Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). John Wick from 2014 is a very representative film of this style because it uses techniques like hand-to-hand combat and gunfights, and the protagonist is driven by strong emotions like revenge and anger. It uses very well-defined and energetic action sequences that clearly convey the narrative and the character's

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) is a film that relies heavily on chases, stunts, and very little dialogue. It uses visual action to tell the story and maintain constant tension. The film is driven by movement and physical contact, with the main conflict being survival, or rather, character versus nature.

The beginning of these types of films is usually very striking, attempting to capture the viewer's attention. They often start with intense scenes such as fights, explosions, or missions to establish the theme, helping the viewer understand that the film is about danger and a central conflict.  This primarily highlights the film's energy and introduces the main character and their abilities in an active way, rather than through dialogue, showcasing their personality.

Trancitioning into the Cambrige Portfolio Project.

Cambridge Portfolio  Project Intro.

Hello Cambridge, this is the beginning of my portfolio project. From now on, I will only be posting about the creative process of this project. The previous posts have been very helpful in achieving the best possible result for this important project. Thanks to all these projects, I am confident that I will do well.

The project consists of creating the opening sequence for a fictional film. The introduction will be two minutes long. In those two minutes, I have to establish the film's context, the characters, and the conflict. All of this has to be created by me. My favorite part, and the one I'm most excited about, is developing the characters through set design and costumes. It's something I love, and I know I'm going to enjoy it.

I feel that the most difficult part is going to be the context, since I only have a little over two minutes to make the film's theme clear. The good thing is that I have many film genres to choose from.I feel that the most difficult part is going to be the context, since I only have a little over two minutes to make the film's theme clear.  Hiii, blog! Unfortunately, this is going to be my last post, since this lovely adventure—albeit a bit stressful—comes to an end right here....
